Alphonzo

Alphonzo is a musician and rapper from Dresden, Germany. His passion for playing bass guitar brought him to punk, soul, reggae and rap early on. Being a child of the 90’s, he got to discover all that East Coast hip-hop first hand and in real time, and immediately fell in love with the Boom and the Bap. Meanwhile, he was still playing bass in punk bands, and toured as a Hammond organ player with reggae groups all over Europe.

Phonzolinho jumped into rap in his mid 20s and quickly became a well known lyricist in the German underground rap scene, especially thanks to his collaborative work with Berlin based producer-mastermind Figub Brazlevic. Together, they’ve released the “Naturgesetz EP” and the 2019 album “Analog Slang”… surely, there is more to come from the Krekpek family member.

His latest project is focussed on a more modern sound approach to the culture. He started producing trappy beats as of late - almost without sampling. Just playing synths, bass, horns and whatever he can think of, all by himself. This new project isn‘t released just yet, but it will be his most personal piece of work so far. It will be more melodious than his previous work (but leaves out any autotune) and is planned for release in the first half of 2023. In the meantime, he is also writing and recording songs for his new rock band „Love Train“ where he plays guitars, bass and keys. Also, he‘s touring with PIY Punkrock Karaoke - a bastard of a Japanese karaoke booth crossed with a snotty punk band. Jack of all trades galore!
