Lupara Versato

Lupara Versato is a German rapper. Growing up in the border triangle between Italy, France and Switzerland, his first conscious connections with hip-hop began around the age of 9, listening to German Rap by the likes of Torch and Brothers Keepers. His influence and inspiration predominantly hails from Italian artists (namely Fabri Fibra and Mondo Mario), however, he also quickly took note of German pioneers such as Curse, Azad, Samy Deluxe or Kool Savas, and the masters of ceremony from abroad, say Tupac, Masta Ace, Mobb Deep, Nas, to name a few.

Lupara began making his own music back in 2007 - jazzy beats, reminiscent of the sound of the golden era of the 90s, paired with witty punchlines and melancholy storytelling. His name goes back to his ancestral roots, yet makes perfect sense in the realm of rap music - “Lupara” being a sawed off shotgun, used by Sicilian shepherds to keep wolfs away from the sheep, “Versato” being the Italian equivalent of “versed”. You better don’t mess with the herd, ya heard?!!
